We are proud to announce that Dennis Baidoo, a master's student in our department, has been honored with the American Statistical Association (ASA) Biopharmaceutical Section Scholarship Award at the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM) 2024. This award, established in 2018, recognizes exceptional research, academic achievement, and applied project work in the field of biopharmaceutical statistics. The award also considers general academic performance, leadership, volunteering, and service.
Out of the many submissions reviewed by the scholarship committee, Dennis stood out as the only master's student among this year’s recipients, joining an elite group of PhD candidates recognized for their outstanding contributions to the field. The award includes a $3,000 scholarship and is a testament to Dennis’s dedication to his studies, research, and passion for advancing public health through biostatistics.
The JSM is the largest gathering of statisticians in North America, bringing together leading minds in the field. Dennis’ achievement at such a prestigious event underscores the exceptional talent and hard work that he brings to our department and the broader statistical community.
We congratulate Dennis on this well-deserved honor and look forward to seeing his continued success in his academic and professional endeavors.
