Three of our advanced graduate students: Abdel Mohamed, Chamsol Park, and Zachary Stevens have been selected to receive 2021 Graduate Studies Summer Dissertation Writing Award (part of a pilot project OGS is running this summer). Congratulations!  The award pays $5,000.00 total in two installments for summer dissertation work.

We are told, the applicant pool was deep and highly competitive, so you the winners, your dissertation advisors (Professors Dimiter Vassilev, Matt Blair and Zeb Chaudhry, respectively), and our  department "should take this recognition with considerable regard for the quality and promise of your work as well as the demonstrable effectiveness of your advisor’s commitment to your success" (quote from the award letter from OGS).
